Summer updates

Over 1000 children read over 19,000 books and counting! We didn't quite dye Mrs. S's hair, but there's always next year and another challenge.

Please pick up any unclaimed Library Insight prizes no later than this Friday, 8/22.
The prize drawings are closed; winners will be announced no later than this Wednesday.

We're still accepting surveys in exchange for a poster or sticker.

Don't forget to send in your Bridgeport Bluefish ticket forms due by 9/7. Miss Beth and Miss A. will be at the game, so please join us! If you were in the summer reading program and didn't get the Bridgeport Bluefish form, please ask at the Children's Desk.

Our summer reading is going like gangbusters. We're almost up to 2,000 books read, so keep going!

Summer events fill up fast. It's a good idea to call in the first few days of sign ups (2 weeks before) if there is something you really want to attend.

to our 33 Read Around Stratford participants who read over 48000 pages! We had a great party this Sunday (with cake!), and a preview of the Library's Summer Events. We hope to make next year's club even more interactive, so plan to join us for Summer Reading ... and in the fall!

Bookmark Craft to Benefit Local Seniors

Mrs. V. will be back this Thursday at 4 p.m. to lead children in a bookmark craft. The bookmarks will go to local seniors in group homes. If you would like to participate and bring some cheer into the lives of others, please register by calling the Children's Department at 203-385-4165. Drop-ins are also welcome. I'll try to post some pictures after the event!

Schedule changes

Hi, everyone!

The Tech Playground will be March 9 at 2 p.m. NOT March 2nd. Sorry for that confusion.
The Fairy Party will be March 13 at 4 p.m. It was listed as March 6 on the online calendar, but correctly as March 13 everywhere else.

Whatever the date, let's hope the winter weather is done for good! Remember, if Stratford schools are closed, Library programs are cancelled.

Snow cancellation policies

Hi, everyone!

Since this has come up sooo much recently!, if the Stratford schools are cancelled for the day, or if there is early dismissal, teen and children's programs at the Stratford Library are also cancelled for the day. If the schools have a delay, we are generally open, and our programs will take place. However, you can always check our Facebook page for details on our hours of operation and our programs.

We hope the snow ends ... at least for a few days!
